A beautiful Tank armchair, masterfully restored in zebra hide. The Armchair 400 or "Tank Chair" is one of Alvar Aalto's best known works. The sculptural cantilever design showcases the beauty of bent plywood. The chair alone is one of the most comfortable chairs of mid-century design with the wide, deep seat. It has been a dream to restore a Tank chair in zebra hide to mimic the original zebra fabric so loved by Alvar's wife, Aino, that accompanied the original Tank design. We also love the zebra with the laminated black birch. Forever chic.
